AO5 Senior Finance Officer

Are you an experienced Senior Finance Officer or Management Accountant looking for a high-impact role within the Public Sector? Randstad is currently partnering with a State Government department to secure a finance specialist for a strategic, 6-month assignment on the Gold Coast. This is an exceptional opportunity to provide critical financial insights that directly influence regional decision-making.

This role is classified at the AO5 level and offers a highly competitive hourly rate of $69.21 to $75.09 plus superannuation.

As the Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for:

• Undertaking complex research and analysis using Technology One Finance and SMS to understand drivers of financial performance.
• Providing proactive analysis of cost drivers to better understand course profitability and drive business efficiencies.
• Providing advice and guidance to business units on all matters of financial management, including internal budgets and forecasts.
• Building and maintaining collaborative working relationships with business units to assist in developing strategies and improving performance.
• Establishing effective financial management reporting systems and providing ad-hoc management reports to Regional Leadership.
• Ensuring timely completion of budgeting, forecasting, and month-end processes, including general ledger reconciliations.

Key Skills:

• Previous experience in a Senior Finance or Management Accounting role, ideally within the Queensland Government.
• Advanced proficiency in Technology One and Microsoft Excel.
• Proven success in identifying financial trends and long-term fiscal impacts.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial data for non-finance stakeholders.
• High-level attention to detail and the ability to manage competing regional priorities.
